"An Hour of the Night" by Joseph Pollet
|
Item No: 049
|
This is a sensuous bronze sculpture of impressive size and unsurpassed quality.
This depiction of a lovely dreaming lady was sculpted by Joseph Michel-Ange Pollet (French, 1814-1870). She is shown floating in peaceful slumber, a nightime star atop her head, with her feet actually suspended off the ground. The sculpture is finished with a stunning patina, particularly on her draped robe of marbleized royal blue with tiny polished bronze stars. We have cast An Hour of the Night (or Une Heure de la Nuit in the original French) in our own California art foundry using over 65 lbs. (27 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is mounted onto a gorgeous black marble base. Standing at an impressive 40" (110 cm) tall, this artwork is actually over ½ lifesize. It bears the artist's flourishing signature as well as our foundry seal in its bronze base.
This is an artwork made to the highest standards and will last for hundreds of years. We guarantee your satisfaction.
