"Awakening" by Paul Philippe

 

This lovely sculpture by Paul Philippe (French, 1870-1930) remains one of the most popular examples of the Art Nouveau female nude.  It depicts a voluptuous maiden in a deep stretch as she greets the day.  Please be sure to click on the "View More Images" link above to see additional views of this beautiful sculpture.

 

We have cast Awakening in our own California art foundry using 30 lbs. (13.5 kg) of pure bronze.  The sculpture features a rich patina finish in tones of amber and brown.  Mounted onto a black marble base, it stands a substantial 30" tall by 16" wide (76 cm high x 41 cm wide).  The sculpture is signed "Philippe" in its bronze base and carries our foundry seal.
