This gorgeous sculpture by 19th century sculptor Jean-Louis Grégoire (French, 1840-1890) depicts a youth clipping the wings of a dove to ensure its captivity. We have cast this sculpture in our own California art foundry using 36 lbs. (16 kg) of pure bronze. We have finished the sculpture with a deep, rich patina in tones of brown and amber. Mounted onto a black marble base, Captivity stands 28" tall by 9" wide (71 cm high x 23 cm wide), and is signed "Grégoire" in its bronze base.
