"The Water Carrier" by Dominique Alonzo

This beautiful sculpture by Dominique Alonzo (French, active late 19th century) projects an aura of peaceful elegance.  It depicts a lovely woman dressed in rich robes carrying a jug of water in each hand.

 

We have cast The Water Carrier in our own California art foundry using 14 lbs. (6 kg) of pure bronze.  The sculpture is finished with a gorgeous patina in tones of golds and browns.  Mounted onto a black marble base, it stands 20½" high by 8" wide (52 cm high x 20 cm wide).  The sculpture is signed "D Alonzo" in its bronze base.
