"Diana the Huntress Bust" by A. Falguiere
Item No.: 2032
This gorgeous portrait bust of Diana the Huntress was sculpted by Alexandre Joseph Falguiere (French, 1831-1900). Although it was first exhibited in Paris in 1882, it is still very much at home in today's elegant residence.
This classical sculpture depicts a dignified and self-assured Diana with the crescent moon over her hair, symbolizing the Roman goddess of the moon and the hunt. Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views.
We have cast this Diana in our own California art foundry using 33 lbs. (15 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a classical patina in tones of dark brown. The bust itself measures 16" high by 15" wide by 9" deep. Mounted onto a marble cube of 5" in dimension, it stands a substantial 21" (53 cm) high. The bust carries the artist's flourishing signature on her left shoulder as well as the Thiebaut Brothers foundry mark on its interior bronze pedestal.
This is a fine bronze sculpture, made to the highest standards. We guarantee your satisfaction.
