How do you ship sculptures?

We regularly ship bronze and stainless steel sculptures from our California foundry to customers all over the world. Within the continental U.S. and Canada, we generally ship via FedEx ground service.  Shipping time is up to 5 business days.

We ship to international destinations using DHL or a similar air freight carrier.   Shipping time is up to 5 business days to reach your country's customs services.

Some of our sculptures exceed the size and weight maximums of common carriers. In these instances, we will arrange shipment via truck or specialized carrier. We cannot ship to P.O. boxes.

For all shipments except very large sculptures, we use an injection foam shipping system that blows in protective foam around the sculpture.  This provides excellent protection during the shipping process.  For larger pieces, we construct wooden shipping crates that ensure a safe arrival at its destination.

How much does shipping cost?

We are pleased to provide free shipping via ground service within the continental U.S.  The prices you see on our website are all-inclusive for these U.S. shipping destinations, other than sales taxes for shipments within the state of California.  Expedited shipping is available for an extra charge.

The purchaser is responsible for the cost of shipping to Canada and other countries outside of the U.S.

If you require special delivery services or would like to arrange international shipping, call us at 818.841.7979 or send email to info@artbronze.com.

How long does it take for my purchase to arrive?

In-stock items are usually shipped the next business day.  Other items are produced to order.  In these cases, production begins within two days after we receive a complete order, and the entire process through finishing takes 4 to 6 weeks.  Quality takes time.  We will contact you with an expected shipment date shortly after we receive your order.

Please call us at 818.841.7979 or send email to info@artbronze.com if you have questions about our delivery schedule or you need more information.

We make best efforts to ship items as communicated once we receive a properly completed order.  However, any delivery date we provide is a good faith estimate.  Availability of certain items may be limited and certain items may not be available for immediate shipment.  We are not liable for any cost or expense related to a shipment delay.

Prices

Prices are shown in U.S. dollars, and are subject to change without notice.  If an item is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical or other error, we have the right to refuse, cancel or limit any order placed for items listed at the incorrect price, whether or not an order confirmation has been sent and/or payment has been made.

We provide special pricing for resellers and designers meeting our commercial client criteria.  To learn more, please send an email request to info@artbronze.com or call us at 818.841.7979.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

We do not collect any sales tax for orders shipped outside the state of California or to any country outside the U.S.  We are required to collect 8.75% sales tax for orders shipped to California addresses, unless the buyer is purchasing for resale and provides us with California resale license information.

Customs duties and other taxes associated with shipments to countries outside of the United States are the responsibility of the purchaser.

What if I want to return the sculpture after it arrives?

We pride ourselves on crafting the highest quality items and guarantee their quality.  Before shipping, each bronze is thoroughly inspected.  We also use materials that provide excellent protection during the shipping process.  If something should happen in transit, we will accept any damaged or defective items for return within 30 days of shipping.  Please inform us immediately, though, so we can work with you to arrange return or replacement.  If you decide that an item you have received does not meet your expectations, we will accept its return within 30 days as long as the product is returned to us undamaged.

Do artists receive royalty payments from my purchase?

Artistic licensing depends on the date the original artist created the piece. After 75 to 95 years, the artist's copyright ownership expires and the piece is considered in the public domain. This is the case with the popular sculptures of Frederic Remington, for example. For more contemporary works, we either purchase copyright for the piece outright or pay the artist a royalty each time we cast a piece they created. But whether the artist is involved or long gone, we make every attempt to faithfully reproduce each Art Bronze sculpture to the artist's specifications and will not sell inferior 'knock-offs.'

Do you repair bronze sculptures not made in your foundry?

Generally not.  The process of repairing a bronze sculpture often uncovers more problems than the owner of the sculpture anticipated.  For example, removing a dark patina can reveal shoddy metalwork underneath that the patina color was chosen to hide.  We insist on seeing a sculpture in person before committing to a repair or restoration project.

We will occasionally take on a repair project if the sculpture is particularly interesting to us.  In this rare instance, any repair work is done on an hourly fee basis and (our lawyers make us say this) Art Bronze assumes no liability for damage or loss to the sculpture while in our facility.

How can I find out the value of a sculpture I own?

We could help you understand the value of a bronze sculpture you own, but that requires that we examine it in person.

The value of a bronze can vary greatly according to the quality of its casting.  For example, our castings of Frederic Remington sculptures are very fine and carry a high value.  You can find other bronze sculptures of the same subject that have been cast in Mexico or China that may look similar in a photo but cost a fraction of what ours do.  However, if you see these other imported bronzes in person, it is easy to see why they cost so much less.  The sculpture needs to be seen in person to really tell.

We recommend that people seeking a valuation for a bronze sculpture visit the sculpture specialist of their local auction house.  Generally, they will give you an informed valuation at no charge.
