James Earle Fraser (American, 1876-1953) created many monumental sculptures celebrating American heroes as well as the American frontier.

Fraser created this sculpture in 1932 for the bicentennial of the birth of President George Washington.  He also used it as a model for one of his unfinished projects: an equestrian statue of Washington intended for outside the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.  The horse that Washington is seated on was modeled after the famous thoroughbred racehorse, "Man o' War".  Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views, and then click on any image to enlarge it.

We have cast George Washington Statue in our own California art foundry using 52 lbs. ( kg) of pure bronze.  The sculpture boasts excellent detail and is finished with a traditional bronze patina in tones of browns.  Mounted onto a black marble base, it stands 30" high by 23" wide (76 cm high x 58 cm wide).  The sculpture is signed by Fraser in its bronze base and we have cast in our Art Bronze foundry seal.
