This is a finely-sculpted artwork of a lovely woman barely covering herself with her hand and a diaphonous gown. Its artist is unknown, but others have thought it was sculpted by Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux (French. 1827-1875) or by Jean-Antoine Houdin (French, 1741-1828). There is no doubt, though, that its sculptor possessed great talent. Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views.
We have cast Half Revealed in our own California art foundry using 38 lbs. (17 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a classic patina in tones of brown and amber. Mounted onto a black marble base, it stands a substantial 27½" (70 cm) high. The sculpture carries our Art Bronze foundry seal on the rear side of its bronze base.
