"Hunter with Hounds" by H.F. Moreau and P. Lecourtier

 

This classic sculpture was created by two French artists working in partnership:  Hippolyte-Francois Moreau (1832-1917) and Prosper Lecourtier (1851-1924).   Its title in the original French is Piqueur au Relais. 

 

Hunter with Hounds depicts a French huntsman of the Louis XV period out in the field accompanied his two hounds.  The sculpture has terrific detail.  Please be sure to click on the "View More Images" link above to see additional views.

 

We have cast Hunter with Hounds in our own California art foundry using over 50 lbs. (23 kg) of pure bronze.  The sculpture is finished with a classic patina in tones of browns.  Mounted onto a marble base, it stands an impressive 32" high by 20" wide (81 cm high x 50 cm wide).  The sculpture is signed "H F Moreau" and "P Lecourtier" in its bronze base.
