This bronze sculpture by August Moreau (French, (1834-1917) depicts a bacchanal scene, with a handsome maiden in a field holding up a bunch of grapes to tempt a goat, while a cherub suckles at the goat's breast. Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views.
We have cast Maiden in the Vineyard in our own California art foundry using 25 lbs. (11 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a traditional bronze patina in tones of brown and amber. Mounted onto a black marble base, it stands 18" high by 17" wide (46 cm high x 43 cm wide). The sculpture is signed by the artist and carries our Art Bronze foundry seal.
