This classic sculpture of the god Dionysus has its origins in ancient Greece, possibly from the school of the master sculptor Praxiteles.  The subject of this sculpture has often mistakenly labeled as Narcissus.

Dionysus is sculpted with great sensitivity and detail.  The young god wears a crown of ivy and has a fawn-skin knotted over his left shoulder.  He wears high-laced, open-toed leather boots.  His left hand is artfully placed at his side, and his right hip is cocked suggestively.  He raises his right forefinger playfully, looking down toward his left foot.  The figure stands atop an elaborately carved bronze base.  Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views.

We have cast Dionysus in our own California art foundry using 25 lbs. (11 kg) of pure bronze.  The sculpture has a rich patina finish in tones of amber and chocolate brown.  Mounted onto a black marble base, it stands 24" tall by 12½" wide (61 cm high x 32 cm wide).

This is a fine bronze sculpture, made to high standards.  We guarantee your satisfaction.
