This spirited stallion is one of the most famous sculptures by Pierre-Jules Mêne (French, 1810-1879). Our version of Mene's sculpture features the original landscape favored by the artist over later versions often reproduced elsewhere. We have cast Accolade in our own California art foundry using over 15 lbs. (7 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a traditional patina in tones of brown. Mounted onto a marble base, it stands 12" high by 16" wide by 8" deep (30.5 cm high by 41 cm wide by 20 cm deep). It is signed "P.J. MENE" in its bronze base.
