"Portrait of a Woman" by Daniel Chester French

Your Price: $4,200.00

This is a fine antique bronze portrait bust of a woman by Daniel Chester French (American, 1850-1931).  French was one of the leading sculptors in turn-of-the-century America, best known for his Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC and The Concord Minute Man.

Art Bronze has a long association with the works of Daniel Chester French.  In fact, we are proud to have been entrusted with the task of molding the artist's original plasters of the Lincoln Memorial maquette and The Concord Minute Man to create a limited edition run of fine contemporary bronze castings.

The sculpture stands 8" (20 cm) tall.  It is incised with the artist's "DCF" initials beneath the left side of the neck and is marked with the "QIDJ GORHAM CO." foundry name along the rear of the base.  Condition is very good, with the minor changes to its rich brown patina that one would expect to see in a bust of about 100 years old.

This is a rare opportunity to own a bronze sculpture by one of America's finest historical sculptors.
