According to Greek mythology, Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete, assisted Theseus in his quest to slay the Minotaur.  She then fled with him aboard his ship to the island of Naxos.  Theseus abandoned her on Naxos as she lay sleeping.  Ariadne was then discovered by the wine-god Dionysus who made her his wife.

We have cast Sleeping Ariadne in our own California art foundry using 25 lbs. (11 kg) of pure bronze.  Mounted onto a black marble base, the sculpture stands 13½" high by 16" wide by 7" deep (34 cm high x 40 cm wide x 18 cm deep).  It carries the Barbedienne foundry mark and the A. Collas reduction seal on the rear of its bronze base.  We have also cast our Art Bronze foundry seal into the rear of the bronze.

This is a fine bronze sculpture, made to the highest standards.  We guarantee your satisfaction.
