"Man with Spear" by J. de Roncourt
|
Item No: 1102
|
This is a superb example of an Art Deco bronze sculpture of the athletic male, sculpted by French artist J. de Roncourt in the 1930s. It depicts a man in a loin cloth poised to hurl his barbed spear at its target. Please be sure to click on the "View More Images" link above to see multiple views of the sculpture.
We have cast Man with Spear in our own California art foundry using over 36 lbs. (16 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a rich, deep brown patina with subtle highlights that emphasize the artist's assured modeling. The edition is limited to just 100 castings, and the unique number of each sculpture is stamped into the bronze.
The bronze sculpture is mounted onto a thick, black marble base. Attached to the marble base and including its removable bronze spear, the sculpture stands an imposing 23½" high by 36" wide by 9" deep (60 cm high x 91 cm wide x 23 cm deep).
This is a fine bronze sculpture, made to the highest standards. We guarantee your satisfaction.
