"The Cheyenne" by Frederic Remington
|
Item No: 129B
|
Regarded by Frederic Remington as one of his most challenging sculptures to create, The Cheyenne reflects Remington's desire to depict a horse in natural flight. Depicted at full gallop, all four of the horse's legs are seen off the ground, with its Cheyenne Indian rider holding a spear in his hand and balanced by the length of a buffalo robe. The Cheyenne is Remington in full mastery of his art. Please be sure to click on the "View More Images" link above to see additional views of the wonderfully-captured details.
We have cast The Cheyenne in our own California art foundry using 42 lbs. (19 kg) of pure bronze. The sculpture is finished with a beautiful patina in tones of brown, black and amber. Mounted onto a oval black marble base, it stands 25" high by 23" wide (63 cm high x 58 cm wide). The sculpture is signed "Frederic Remington" in the bronze. This is a limited edition casting, with only 500 sculptures being made. The individual edition number of each sculpture is stamped into the bronze.
Our castings of Remington sculptures are particularly fine. In fact, several have been purchased by the White House as gifts of State for leaders of other nations. We guarantee your satisfaction.
