Item No.: ANT-111
|
This masterful bronze artwork was sculpted by Henri Desire Gauquie (French, 1858-1927). The Sower, or Le Semeur in French, depicts a heroic worker sowing seeds in the field. On the front of the base of the sculpture is the Latin inscription "Fac et Spera'', which translates to "Do and Hope." Please click on the thumbnail images above to see additional views.
Le Semeur was cast in bronze in France in the late 19th century. The sculpture has a wonderfully aged patina in tones of brown, green and amber. It stands 13'' high by 6" wide (32 cm high x 15 cm wide). Condition is very good other than slight surface wearing and discoloration consistent with age.
This is a fine antique French bronze sculpture by a listed artist. We guarantee your satisfaction.
